Nov 19, 2025 - Visual Clarity
I hope everyone is well! This update tackles a lot of issues regarding visual clarity and clarity with the flow of the game. It is now easier to understand the main mechanic of the game, the UNO-inspired colour matching system via the top right UI. Many bugs were fixed, like the cards being stuck in the middle and sometimes not being able to unselect cards. The real time card stat tracker is very useful and intuitive for understanding the game and also strategizing your victory. Keep the feedbacks coming!
Oct 29, 2025 - Feedback and Iteration
Hello Card Sorcerers! This update brings a new prototype that tackles new UX animations and sequences that refresh the clarity of the experience. The major aspect added is how the selected cards are highlighted very clearly in the middle of the screen, as well as animating the execution of each card individually. The background art has been updated as well, polishing up the details in the background to better suit the world of Draw Your Sword. Things such as lit candles, chains, and lanterns have been added to help storytelling and some red lighting to evoke a dangerous mood. A new soundtrack has been added to help immerse you in to the world of Draw Your Spells.
Oct 1, 2025 - Core Gameplay Loop
Hello fellow Card Sorcerers! We're back with an update to the game that brings actual gameplay this time! In this update, you will be able to pick and play cards, attack and heal yourself! WIP environment art has been added to the game as well. As for card art, we decided to change the card colours to one unified colour to remove confusion. A text box has been implemented to be clear to players what kinds of effects their card plays. Once cards are played, new cards will automatically refresh on to your hands. For now, there is no action limit, meaning there you can draw and play as many cards as you'd like. Which is obviously bad for the game balancing, but we are prioritizing the fun loop first. Please let us know some feedback in the gamplay and art direction as it would be greatly appreciated!
All cards assets are hand-drawn without the use of AI.
